Thoracic Compression Fracture

Compression fractures are caused by trauma to the spine, such as a car accident or fall.

Mild to severe pain may be felt in the back, abdominals, arms, and/or legs and worsens with movement. Limitations of movement, swelling, numbness, and tingling may be also present. While severe fractures require surgery, often a combination of rest and conservative treatment is effective in resolving the symptoms and restoring function.
